At Yarram Primary School we have the responsibility of preparing students for the demands of an ever-changing, technology rich world. The Digital Technologies and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) strands are meaningfully incorporated into our curriculum, with technological devices integrated into lessons as an additional learning tool.

 

Students at Yarram Primary School have access to a broad range of technological devices that assists them in developing skills to be creative, innovative and forward thinking.  These devices include iPads, laptops, interactive TVs and a wide range of STEM resources.

 

Yarram Primary School is an eSmart accredited school. eSmart is a long-term change program designed to educate, track, monitor and prevent bullying and cyber bullying. eSmart provides schools with management tools to deal with bullying and cyber issues and incidents so that students feel safer and supported. It also helps schools to embrace the benefits of technology while reducing students’ exposure to cyber risks.

At Yarram Primary School students use ICT devices for a range of learning opportunities, including, but not limited to:

  • creating and editing videos

  • online research

  • audio recordings

  • coding and problem solving during STEM sessions

  • creating projects

  • producing music during specialist Music sessions

  • word processing tasks

  • access to online learning supports such as Maths Seeds and Reading Eggs
