We take child safety extremely seriously at Yarram Primary School. The foundations of this lie in our school values - Strive, Together, Achieve, Respect - through which we teach expected behaviours and promote a positive school culture.

All staff are required to have either current registration through the Victorian Institute of Teaching or a current Working With Children Clearance (WWCC). All visitors and volunteers are encouraged to obtain Working With Children Clearances, and those working with children on a regular basis are required to do so. All new volunteers are provided with access to our child safety induction pack and our child safety policies.

We educate our students through the Rights, Resilience and Respectful Relationships program. This curriculum covers age-appropriate information about safe behaviours as well as what to do and who to talk to if a child ever feels uncomfortable or unsafe.

Yarram Primary School is an eSmart accredited school. eSmart is a long-term change program designed to educate, track, monitor and prevent bullying and cyber bullying. eSmart provides schools with management tools to deal with bullying and cyber issues and incidents so that students feel safer and supported. It also helps schools to embrace the benefits of technology while reducing students’ exposure to cyber risks.
